How we review games

This page explains the process our team follows from the moment a game enters our shortlist to the moment it gets published. The goal is that every reader can see what stands behind each listing.

1. Discovery

Each week we go through new releases on Google Play, Editor's Choice lists, player communities and pitches that reach us by email. We note titles that seem to deserve a deeper look.

2. Pre-filters

Before we invest time, we discard games with misleading descriptions, clearly recycled screenshots, an average rating below 3.5 stars on their main market, or known patterns of predatory monetisation.

3. Real play test

We install the game on Android devices we use day-to-day (mid-range). We play at least four sessions spread across several days to see the real progression curve, not just the polished first hour.

4. Criteria we evaluate

  • Gameplay: how clear and rewarding the core loop feels.
  • Design and performance: interface, pacing, stability, download size.
  • Ads: frequency, format, ability to skip.
  • In-app purchases: whether they are fair or push you to pay to progress.
  • Player's time: respect for short sessions, no artificial walls.
  • Privacy: permissions requested and data shared, as listed on Google Play.

5. Editorial decision

After testing, the team decides whether to publish, reject, or keep the game under longer review. We only publish titles that pass every criterion without a workaround. A rejected game does not enter the catalog even if it is popular.

6. Publication

Once approved, we write the listing: name, developer, genre, honest description and representative screenshots. We link to the official Google Play page. We do not use affiliate links.

7. Ongoing review

Every published game is revisited at least once per quarter. If its behaviour changes (more ads, new paywalls, privacy issues), we update the listing or remove it from the catalog.

What we don’t do

  • We do not accept payment for placement.
  • We do not promise outcomes (scores, wins, rewards).
  • We do not publish reviews written exclusively by AI without human review.
  • We do not share the personal data of people who contact us or subscribe to the newsletter.
